{"id":525,"date":"2011-06-17T12:54:55","date_gmt":"2011-06-17T17:54:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.allnatural.net\/health\/?p=525"},"modified":"2023-08-31T17:18:52","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T23:18:52","slug":"i-thought-i-was-healthy-now-i-truly-am-with-chinese-herbal-foods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.allnatural.net\/health\/i-thought-i-was-healthy-now-i-truly-am-with-chinese-herbal-foods\/","title":{"rendered":"I Thought I was Healthy, now I Truly Am"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By: DeVirl L.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I&#8217;m the kind of person who has always considered himself to be rather healthy<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Oh, I had pneumonia as a child and almost died, and missed a lot of school in my younger years because of sickness, but other than that, I was healthy! <strong>I did suffer a lot with allergies, but we lived on a farm so that was normal, with all the dust, weeds, foliage, etc.<\/strong> Besides, my Dad had allergies too, so I couldn&#8217;t do anything about it, it was something I inherited. I made sure I was never too far away from a box of tissues and never went anywhere without a handkerchief in my back pocket. It was something that you just learned to live with. Other than that, I was healthy.<\/p>\n<p>When I was about 23 years old, I went to work for a large corporation which had about 2,000 employees. <strong>I worked in the accounting department and the section I worked in had ten of us in a room that would accommodate five. Of those ten people, six or seven of them smoked<\/strong>. After working in that smoke-filled room for several years, I found that I frequently had colds and a sore throat, and<strong> I found that severe headaches were becoming the norm<\/strong>. I sometimes couldn&#8217;t sleep at night. When I would lie down, I couldn&#8217;t breathe. In order to sleep, I had to have pillows propped up behind me &#8211; or be sitting in a chair. After one particularly bad bout with the flu and I wasn&#8217;t getting any better after several weeks, I finally broke down and went to the doctor. <strong>He examined me, took chest X-rays, and then later called me in to explain the problem. He said, &#8220;Have you ever smoked?&#8221; &#8220;No, I haven&#8217;t&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, you sure could have fooled me. <strong>You have severe bronchitis, and you have emphysema<\/strong>. &#8220;Bronchitis and emphysema, huh? Well, other than that, I was pretty healthy. Just plan on getting the bad colds every winter, spend most of the month of January sleeping in a chair, keep a big handkerchief in my back pocket all the time and, hey &#8211; other than that !<\/p>\n<p>And so for the past forty years, those are the basic health challenges this &#8220;healthy&#8221; person has had to deal with. <strong>When I started to take the <a title=\"Organic Chinese Herbal Foods products\" href=\"https:\/\/www.allnatural.net\/pages\/health-product-list.html\">Organic Chinese Herbal Foods products<\/a> on a regular basis (in December 1986<\/strong>), I started noticing some subtle changes. I went through the winter without a cold and without any bronchitis or emphysema problems. No sinus headaches and no congestion.
